Despite less than desirable surf for this event, a great time was had by all. The waves were rideable although it was weak southeast windswell. With a special appearence by Robert August of surfings most classic movie, "The Endless Summer", the beach was hopping with autograph seekers and photo opportunist. At 65 years old, Robert actually competed in the event and took home a trophy for his efforts. Other than that all the usual suspects from Mitch Kaufmann to 6 year old Kaleb Kirshenbaum were making the scene and competing for the gold! Yes, the surf was lacking in size and quality but you wouldn't know that by the radical surfing that was going on and the look of all the smiling faces at Jacksonville Beaches biggest surf event!
