Tropical Storms and Hurricanes

Captured by our Jacksonville Beach Pier Cam

Each year the Atlantic Storm Season, which begins on June 1st, produces Tropical Storms and Hurricanes. Between late August and October the Season peaks and Florida, the Gulf States, and the entire Eastern Seaboard pays attention. Here in Northeast Florida we’ve had our share of these Storms and our Jacksonville Beach Pier Cam has recorded the devastation. Please see our YouTube Videos capturing Hurricane Matthew, (2016) and Hurricane Irma, (2017) as they relentlessly pound the Jacksonville Beach Pier until it is destroyed, [over 350 feet of the Pier was lost]. As of August 2020, the Jacksonville Beach Pier is under construction to be rebuilt. Due to the Covid-19 situation and the Tropical Season heating up, the construction should move very slowly, [for the next 3 months]!   Hurricanes are nothing to take lightly! If you are under a Tropical Storm or Hurricane Warning Area please heed the Advice of Local Authorities.
