David Huff, 77, passed away this week in Jacksonville, Fl. after a long illness. He had the unusual distinction of winning the 1984 US Surfing Championships in Hawaii – along with 11 Time World Champ, Kelly Slater. At the time, Dave won Sr Mens at 35, and Kelly won Boys at 12. Recently, we met up with Dave to complete his wish list of Surfing once more and playing Drums in a band, both of which were accomplished before he passed. Dave was well known in the Surfing Community and will be dearly missed. There will be a Paddleout for Dave this Saturday, June 15th at 10AM on the Northside of the Jax Beach Pier. Rest In Peace Brother Dave, ride one for me on the other side.
