World Wide Paddle Out
Peace . Unity . Solidarity
A group of locals from Jacksonville Beach Florida participated in the Solidarity In Surf, World Wide Paddle Out. Los Angeles, Bondi, Melbourne, Jamaica, San Francisco, Oakland and many more cities have all joined in for the peaceful protest organized by Black Girls Surf [@blackgirlssurf]. Black Lyons from the Basque Country in France is spot on, “A paddle out a way of showing respect to those who have passed. Being able to do this event by the ocean is very symbolic – mother ocean who connects & unites us all. We stand together against injustice, discrimination & violence – united, we are stronger. The ocean is where surfers find peace, there’s no better place for us to go and hold this space to the lives that have been lost”.
